Getting here

You make your own way. Hotel pickup is not included. From the center of La Fortuna it is a short taxi or drive. The pin is on Google Maps and Waze.

The walk

About 1.3 km along the Habana River, easy and mostly flat. Most groups take 1.5 to 2 hours because of the stops. The trail is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

If it rains

The tour goes ahead. The path turns muddy and sloths are harder to find when they stay tucked in the canopy. Bring a raincoat and closed-toe shoes. If you would rather not come, the refund deadlines on this page apply.

Not included

Transportation, and anything that is not listed as included. The guide, the telescope, and fruit at the end are included.

The walk lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and suits children and older visitors. The pace is slow because we stop wherever an animal is.

The tour costs $45 per person. Children aged 5 to 11 enjoy a special rate of $30, and children under 5 enter free. Prices can change.

Three-Toed Sloth

This sloth enjoys sunbathing to regulate its temperature, as it has an extremely slow metabolism. Its fur hosts green algae, providing perfect camouflage among the treetops.☀️
